ABOUT
The History of the Greta Branxton Touch Football Association
The Greta Branxton Touch Football Competition was formed in 1977 by a small group of locals. As a non-incorporated body with only a men’s competition played, it was ran under this format right up until the end of the 2006-07 season. It was then that a committee was formed and the newly named Greta Branxton Touch Football Association was born as an incorporation, and became affiliated with the NSW Touch Association. This was also the year that Women and Junior competitions were born. 48 registered women across four teams competed in the first competition, with 100 registered juniors competing in six teams.
Various playing fields have been used over the years, these being Miller Park Soccer fields, Branxton Oval and Greta Central Oval, with the current competitions being played exclusively at Miller Park Soccer Fields.
With all competitions growing and new teams formed each year, the association once again expanded its wings in the 2016-17 season.
A mixed competition was formed, with its popularity quickly outweighing the separate men's and women's competitions.
The association now runs competitions with our own customised rules.
